How often should I have my chimney cleaned?
The NFPA says that chimneys & fireplaces should be inspected at least once a year and cleaning, maintenance & repairs shall be done if necessary.
What are you looking for when inspecting a chimney?
On the exterior of your chimney we will check for damages to the brick, mortar, chimney cap & roof flashing. We examine the internal components of your chimney for potential damages and built up creosote, as well as visually inspect your fireplace.
Will having my chimney cleaned leave a big mess?
When we clean your chimney we use our high powered hepa filter vacuum and never ever do we leave any mess behind.
I am purchasing a house with a fireplace, will the home inspection include a chimney inspection?
A home inspector only checks for obvious damage and does not do a thorough chimney inspection?
Why do I need a chimney cap?
